Yoga Teacher Training Myth #1

“I’m too old to do a Yoga Teacher Training Program.”

You are never too old to do Yoga Teacher Training.

MYTH BUSTED.

Did you know that “Colonel” Harland Sanders worked a variety of odd jobs throughout his life, and watched his first attempt at a fried chicken restaurant fail at the ripe old age of 65. But Sanders used his Social Security checks to begin franchising Kentucky Fried Chicken, which became the success it is today.

This one always makes us laugh a little. Just imagine how much life experience a person who has some years behind them would bring into a yoga class. I bet every person here wishes they would have paid more attention to learnings when they were younger. With age and experience, we have so much more personal references that make what we learn in a yoga teacher training more substantial.

A part of why this training is so special and unique is that the students who come through our program vary in a wide range of ages. We have multiple people that graduate the program that have just retired from their full time jobs along with students who have just graduated from college and everything in between. The variety of knowledge, wisdom, experiences and perspectives of each student adds this incredible richness to the program that makes the experience unlike anything else.

We’ve had retired engineers, retired teachers, and grandmothers take our yoga teacher training. Another gift of yoga is that you are never done learning!
