Yoga Teacher Training Grad: Where are they now: Meet Fayer

Why did you initially sign up for a Yoga Teacher Training:

I wished to share the gift of presence that yoga has brought to my life. I had kept the dream of being a yoga teacher in my pocket for more than 10 years, and this felt like the right time to begin a professional journey of deepening my wellness and encouraging others.

What was the biggest hurdle for you in deciding to sign up for a training?

I didn’t know if I could manage the class time on top of my full-time job. I found that the class provided nourishment in my week by including movement and social connection! I felt content, sufficiently stimulated and healthier than ever.

What was biggest surprise from your yoga teacher training?

I was surprised at how intuitive it was to put my own physical experience into expressible cues for students. I felt that with the thorough, simple anatomy and posture breakdowns I had what I needed to make a strong start in teaching

What was your favorite part of yoga teacher training?

I loved doing an hour practice and then breaking it down to see the methodology behind the madness! This was mind blowing every time! It helped me understand why I feel great after a thought-out sequence.

How has your practice changed?

Now, the focus is creating space in the body for the breath. The focus unconsciously before training was to look like a yogi, or to make my body look like what I was seeing in front of me. The training helped me move my yoga from an external to internal experience.

Where can people find you?

I am a listed teacher on the Yoga Alliance website. You can come on in to Crunch Aloha for a class or a personal training session.
