TWIST Sits: Meditation with Intention
Sit comfortably with your spine straight and close your eyes. Tell yourself you have nowhere to go and nothing to do. Take two or three deep cleansing breaths to settle into the body. Breathing naturally now, tune into the quality of your breath. Just notice how it is, without judgment. Do this for a minute or two. Now become aware of the energy within your body. If you can’t feel it then simply visualize energy permeating your entire physical body.
It’s time to begin the process of systematically drawing energy from all parts of your body into your spine. It’s time for a group meeting! The time is now, the place is your spine. Your spine is your center.
Start with your left leg. Be aware of the energy within your left leg. Slowly, mindfully draw the energy from your left toes all the way up into the base of your spine.
Now repeat this for your right leg. Hold that energy in your spine. Now become aware of the energy within your arms and hands. Start with your left hand. Slowly draw the energy from your left fingers all the way up your left arm through your left torso and into your spine. Repeat for your right arm. Feel all the energy vibrating in your spine now.
Hold the energy in your spine in a relaxed but concentrated manner. You do this by keeping your awareness on your spine. Remember, where awareness goes energy flows. This is an optimal time to set the agenda for this meeting – to plant an intention that you want to manifest in your life. Tune in to that now.
Be specific and detailed as you imagine that it has already come true for you. Imagine how that feels. Linger in these feelings for several minutes. Every time your awareness drifts away, gently and lovingly bring it back to your spine and the feelings of your intention in manifest. After several minutes, release this intention and the feelings.
It’s time to slowly release this renewed energy from your spine back into your body. Begin by releasing energy from your spine into your right torso, through your right arm all the way down to your right fingers. Feel this part of your body being filled with renewed energy.
Repeat for your left arm. Now release energy from your spine down into your right leg all the way down to your right toes. Feel this part of your body being filled with this renewed energy. Repeat for your left leg.
Take a moment to feel your entire body filled with the vibration of your intention and this renewed energy. Take one or two deep cleansing breaths. Then slowly open your eyes and adjust to your surroundings.
You are now ready to begin a dynamic day!
