You deserve your tribe #twisttribe
Twist Yoga was born out of a dream of creating a space that was a peaceful combination of function and form. We love the design, deeply appreciate the local craftsmanship and really, really dig a cool, modern vibe. When you visit, you’ll feel welcome, at home, and energized.
Designing the functionality of the practice room was an essential part of the plan.
Who cares how cool the art is if your yoga practice room is not designed properly, right? After much research and a few minor panic attacks, we chose a LonSeal product for the flooring. We fell in love with this floor because it features an anti-fatigue cushioned back (saves the knees!), it has a microbial resistance formulation (saves the health!), and best of all is made from recycled content and is LEED certified (saves the Earth!).
One of the first steps was to start working with the fab Kristin Fritz (and coincidentally fellow yogi and meditation teacher) on the feng shui (the “feel”) of the studio. You know how you walk into some spaces and you get an overall feeling of happiness or warmth or goodness? Well, that’s what we want at Twist Yoga Lake Oswego. Kristin guided us through a plan to encourage each area of the studio to emit these feelings. Namaste, Kristin.
As we all know, sometimes in our fair city, the skies are a bit grey and the temps are a tad chilly. Not at Twist Yoga! Our 760 square foot practice room is always warm (often hot and steamy), and the ceiling is a perfect shade of blue. It’s like being in Hawaii all year round (minus the long plane ride).
We have two new energy-efficient dedicated HVAC systems for the practice room and the public space. These specialized systems ensure that the temperatures are on point, the air is refreshed often, and the atmosphere is safe and comfortable.
We also have one wall of windows to let in some natural light, two mirrored walls and one plain wall so our teachers can orient the class differently depending on their class plan that day.
Our Twist Yoga Lake Oswego community is integral to and defines our spirit. #twisttribe
- Our water fountains have a supply of glass mason jars for those who forget their water bottle. We just ask that you return it when you are done so we get them cleaned and ready for the next client.
- At Twist Yoga Lake Oswego, you’ll find a men’s dressing room with plenty of storage, a unisex ADA full bathroom with a shower, and a spacious ladies dressing area with two showers. We also have all the little goodies that make life easier: spa-quality shampoos, conditioner, body wash, blow dryers, and a supply of extra hair ties. We have mats and towels for rent or purchase so all you really need to do is show up!
- We have plenty of parking in the lot in front of the studio but if it’s full, there is always tons of extra spaces in the large Providence lot across the street.

Don’t get the wrong idea. We take yoga very seriously – just not ourselves!
Yoga Space … with a TWIST
We follow the theory that yoga is an “inside job,” but that doesn’t mean we take life too seriously … from our custom original artwork to the blue “sky” in our practice room.
Yoga Attitude … with a TWIST
We like to have fun. We like to get our groove on. Sometimes we even celebrate afterward with a glass of something bubbly and a bite of something decadent.
Yoga Music … with a TWIST
Most of our classes are set to music. Besides traditional yoga music, you’ll find a nice variety on our playlist: Jazz, Old School Rap, 80’s Hair Bands, Southern Rock, Dub Sutra, Reggae, Mash-Ups … you name it, we’ll slap a savasana on it.
Yoga Classes … with a TWIST
We have classes perfect for beginners who can’t imagine ever touching their toes and classes for elite athletes who see yoga as a compliment to traditional training. From 5:30 am to 7:00 pm, we have convenient class times that accommodate busy working folks and stressed out stay-at-home parents running carpool duty.
Our teachers are the best. They bring knowledge, training, innovation, and experience to Twist Yoga Lake Oswego. We offer them a blank slate and a haven to experiment with new class ideas and cutting-edge philosophies.
At Twist Yoga, our ultimate goal is balance — we understand that it’s hard to find in today’s hectic world. A little chocolate here, a yoga class there. It’s all a balance and sometimes the scales tip one way or the other and that’s OK!
It’s yoga … with a TWIST.

Jennifer Carter Pahl
Jennifer is relatively new to yoga, but not to the importance of a strong sense of community. Twist Yoga was envisioned as a place to meld both passions. Her hope is that when you are on the mat, you feel powerful, inspired, and supported.
She grew up in Miami but has called Oregon home for over 14 years. After leaving corporate America, Jennifer rediscovered her passion for painting and quickly fell in love with the local Oregon art scene. Her work can be found in galleries, businesses, and private collections.
A passion for the physical, emotional and healing powers of yoga fueled her dream to open to Twist Yoga Lake Oswego. As a mom, Jennifer’s dedication to children’s health sealed her commitment to TWIST kids classes.
Some may say Jennifer is unnaturally obsessed with kale. Others may think her collection of costume wigs is odd. Even a few may question how a woman who can barely touch her toes could possibly own a yoga studio.
She doesn’t believe in “odd” or “can’t”. She believes in second chances and open minds while embracing ancient postures and modern decor.
“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.”
