FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What do I need to bring to be prepared for class?

A smile, some water, a towel, and a mat. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to your first class to get registered and fill out our health waiver. Even better, download our FREE custom Twist Yoga app here for iPhone or here for Android. You can buy class cards or monthly passes, reserve your classes on your phone and keep up with our special app-only flash sales and promotions! Or, register for an account on MindBody and take care of all that stuff ahead of time. A mat and towel can be rented for $2 each if you forget yours or don’t own one yet. We also sell the ultra-fab and by far BEST yoga mats and towels on the planet – Manduka and Yoga Design Lab.

  • How hot is the room going to be?

Our classes range in temperatures which are designated for each class on our schedule and class descriptions. The humidity is around 30-50% (imagine Miami). It’s hot and juicy and so awesome. Our Intro, Yin/Restorative, Slow Flow, and Mommy & ME classes are not heated. We also have other vinyasa power 1 classes that are just set to a comfortable temperature.

  • I am not sure which pricing option or class works best for me?

No problem! Olga, our Membership Ambassador, is here to help! Email her here and she can answer any questions you may have about yoga, the studio, what to expect, and guide you through all the pricing options and classes.

  • Should I eat or drink before class?

This is a personal choice. For morning classes, some yogis prefer to practice on an empty stomach with no solid foods prior to class. Others get dizzy if they practice without a little something in their belly. Reassuring, right? Of course, it all depends on the time of day, too. For early classes, a  piece of fruit or toast and your favorite nut butter are a good start. It’s best to stay clear of heavy meals, but make sure you are always hydrated. Also, plan a protein and carb heavy meal no more than an hour after class if possible. You will want to make sure you add more liquids into your diet to replenish all the sweat lost during class. Some folks like to add in an electrolyte replacement as well. Find your twist on eating and drinking.

  • Do I need to make a reservation?

We highly recommend making a reservation for your class. The practice room is limited to 28 students. Spots fill on a first-come, first served basis. You can reserve classes up to 14 days in advance. If you reserve your space prior to class, you are guaranteed a spot which is good, and you are also more likely to make it to class which is even better!

If you reserve a class and need to cancel, please do so at least 1 hour prior to the class so we can release your spot to the wait list and you can avoid being charged. However, waitlisted clients will be given priority to take class if clients holding a class reservation have not signed in 5 minutes prior to class starting. Late cancellations or no-shows incur a $15.00 charge to accounts with an unlimited monthly membership OR the reduction of one class from a class package.

We all know it’s not always in the plan to make it to class but then your schedule clears up (YEH!) so you can also feel free to just show up, and if there are spots left, they are yours! – Yet another reason to download the FREE Twist Yoga custom app now and make it really easy to manage your schedule.

The teachers will lock the front door when class begins, and we respectfully ask that if you arrive late, please do not knock on the door. We want to preserve the solitude of the practice room and respect other students.

  • Will my class package expire?

Class cards expire one year from the date first used. We want you to feel free to practice at Twist Yoga any time that works for you. We’re busy people, right? Things come up and we’re here for you when you want to come back.

  • What about unused class packages? Can I transfer them?

No. When purchasing a punch-card or unlimited membership, it is only good for the specific person purchasing the membership. Class packages are not transferable to friends or family members.

  •  I have to go straight to work after class. Do you have showers?

We offer separate men’s and women’s dressing areas, as well as two dedicated women’s showers and restrooms, and a separate unisex shower and restroom. We have blow-dryers and spa-quality soap/shampoo/conditioner if you need to get somewhere fancy after class.

  • Which classes have music?

Most classes at Twist Yoga are accompanied by music. The type of music will be chosen by the teachers based on their class plan or what the students are in the mood for that day. Got a favorite song? Let us know and we’ll incorporate it into one of our upcoming playlists! Or, dedicate a song to your favorite yogi friend for a special occasion.
